Job Description: Avionics Technician
The Avionics Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on avionics systems installed in aircraft. The individual in this role will possess a strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and avionics equipment. They will work closely with other maintenance personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain avionics systems in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and company procedures.
2. Conduct routine inspections and functional tests of avionics equipment, including navigation, communication, radar, and autopilot systems.
3. Identify and diagnose avionics equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
4. Install, modify, and upgrade avionics systems, including wiring harnesses, connectors, and associated components.
5. Perform detailed functional checks, alignments, and calibrations on avionics systems to ensure proper operation.
6. Document all maintenance activities accurately and completely, including work performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations or findings.
7. Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve complex avionics system issues.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to avionics systems.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
10. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable aviation regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
3. Minimum of X years of experience working as an Avionics Technician in the aviation and aerospace industry.
4. Strong knowledge of avionics systems, including navigation, communication, radar, and autopilot systems.
5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
6. Ability to use hand and power tools, as well as specialized avionics test equipment.
7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
8. Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
